Designer is the primary tool used to configure and customize Cityworks. Designer allows the database administrator to setup domains, assign user rights, import table data (codes), set up work order templates, employee lists, and perform other basic software setup functions. This includes organization of hierarchies, additional information for permits, work scheduling, measurement labels, and ArcGIS configuration.
Cityworks supports a robust security model well suited to enterprise asset management. Through the implementation of domains and domain administrators, users and groups can be created. Each user and user group can be assigned a wide range of data access permissions. Create, update, and view permissions can be set for all work management activities and data fields.
Designer also provides a customization environment for key data forms and fields. The ability to change field labels, colors, and other font characteristics for each domain allows easy customization throughout the enterprise.
